maybe there's a shredder type rocket that doesn't do much damage at all, but tears through armor and reduces defense ( Yes, I just stole that from XCOM )? Maybe a gas-rocket that poisons instead of explodes? Maybe an ion-burst rocket to disable electronics?
It'd be fun to allow a couple of specific types of rocket too. making it more expensive than grenades, but not unreasonable. and they'd be (R) as the rocker launcher is also (R) and they're pretty much specifically made for it. I'd say a wrist-mounted rocket would cost 100 CR per. Further, I've got no issue adding a 2nd rocket to the system. so there's no way a wrist-mounted mini-rocket-launcher should have Breach. Special: Blast 4, Pierce 2, Limited Ammo 2Ī Frag Grenade has Pierce 0. I'm thinking that's another way to try to justify all the massive stats? unless you were hoping to pass by your GM that the high rarity should justify the massive damage, breach, and long range. No reason to make the thing more rare than a Light Repeating Blaster. Why not allow for the mounting of something like a multi-optic site? Narratively, you could even have it wirelessly connected to a targeting eye-piece. but this encumbrance value continues to reinforce how it's small. again, it's a very small weapon with small rockets ( unless you're a Rancor wearing it? ). It's possible you'd even want to say short here. The real benefit beyond a blaster's base damage is going to come from it's special properties. We're firing mini-rockets off our wrist, not full-sized missiles. It should be fired like a pistol, not a ship's weapon or tripod-mounted gun.
